Measuring and Mapping Drowning Burden

This theme encompasses research that analyses drowning burden, impacts and risk factors and informs prevention efforts. This theme might include papers that:

  • Analyse fatal and non-fatal drowning data at global, national and community levels
  • Identify strategies to strengthen systems and novel approaches to drowning data collection
  • Analyse and address contributing factors to drowning including exposure and vulnerabilities
  • Analyse and address determinants of drowning risk, including social, cultural, commercial and economic
  • Address knowledge gaps in drowning epidemiology
  • Explore the socio-economic impact of drowning
